Where does your son or daughter turn when he or she needs help?
Why is a Student Assistance Program necessary?
If not you... who? Most parents want their children to come to them first in difficult times. Unfortunately, many parents realize that they can be the "last to know" when their child needs emotional support. Instead of talking with qualified adults, most young people rely on their friends for guidance.
Easy access to confidential, qualified support may help facilitate healthy decision making.
Disturbing Trends:
- Graduation rates at public colleges have dropped to below 43%
- College Depression and Anxiety rates continue to alarm professionals
- Eating disorders affect 5-10 million, with highest rates among college women
- More than 30% of college Freshmen report feeling "overwhelmed"
What is a Student Assistance Program or SAP?
Modeled after the highly successful Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) that companies offer their valued employees, the SAP is a specialized support service that has been designed with students' needs in mind. Your student will receive:

- Crisis intervention 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Unlimited telephonic support services
- Referrals to the college counseling service
- An option for up to 6 paid face-to-face counseling sessions with a college counselor or outside counseling service
