Diabetes Dictionary
This dictionary defines words that are often used when people
talk or write about diabetes. It is designed for people who have
diabetes and for their families and friends.
The words are listed in alphabetical order. Some words have many
meanings; only those meanings that relate to diabetes are included.
Words that appear in bold italic are defined elsewhere
in the dictionary. A term will refer the reader to another
definition only when the second definition gives additional
information about a topic that is directly related to the first
term.
Information in this dictionary is not a substitute for your
health care professional's advice.
The U.S. Government does not endorse or favor any specific
commercial product or company. Trade, proprietary, or company names
appearing in this document are used only because they are considered
essential in the context of the information provided. If a product
is not mentioned, this does not mean or imply that the product is
unsatisfactory.
